A Study on the Serological of Syphilis at the Waitress in Restaurant Business

Abstract
|
|
|
The examination of 3976 females working in various kinds of entertaining business was carried out for the serological reaction of syphilis by the VDRL slide flocculation test &
TPHA macro test for a year from Jan. 4, 1977 to Dec. 31,1977. The results of the examination were as follows ;
1. The positive rate of VDRL flocculation test is 7.37% of 3976 cases. ; It is 7.95% of 2655 cases in 20-24 age group, 6.4700 of 865 cases in 25-29 age group, 6.3600 of 283 cases in 30-34 age group, 5.56% of 126 cases in 35-39 age group, and 2. 13% of 47 cases in the group of over 40 years of age.
2. Prozon reaction was not found in false positive cases.
3. The highest reaction of VDRL quantitative test is only one case at 64 dilutions.
4. The results of TPHA qualitative test are 4 cases of Non-reactive in 113 cases out of 293 cases of VDRL reactive serum and the positive rate of TPHA test is 96.5% of 109 cases in 113 cases of VDRL reactive serum.
